We ate dinner in a cute little restaurant in the Highland Park area of Atlanta. I had fried catfish over a tomato salsa. Creme brulee for dessert! The food was great and so was the decor. Old brick walls, faux painting, etc. Charming! We also went to another quaint restaurant a few blocks from the first and met a couple for drinks. Cute friendly, "youngish" couple in their thirties. She is a realtor and he buys and sells start up companies..something like that. Not sure I quite got it...but it sounded interesting. He travels all over the world, works from home; sounds like a plum job for a guy in his thirties!
My dinner date builds custom homes in the same area of Atlanta--Highland Park/Inman Park. He has built many of the new homes in Highland Park. According to the restaurant owner, my friend has left his "mark" all over the neighborhood. What a legacy! The houses are very cool looking bungalows, much like old Craftsman homes, except these are brand new...just made to look old. The neighborhoods in this area of downtown Atlanta are sweet!! They are tree-lined with interesting homes nestled into a park-like setting. How cool would it be to live in Highland Park?? You could just walk to dinner on a Saturday night. What an awesome neighborhood!!
I'm sitting here now with Jazz on my lap. What a cat! What a cat... Gonna tuck myself in now. It's well past my bedtime.
